Good News!

We got an email today from Merrily, the Director of AAI, with the good news that our case was filed in court on May 6th and that she expects our court date will take place within the next 43 - 47 days (based on the last several batches of court cases). Of course, it is always possible that it will be sooner, but at the latest it should be the end of June. Travel is approximately four weeks later, although things have slowed down recently due to rolling power outages.

When I get news of a firm court date, I will be sure to post it.

Just when the day didn't seem that it could get much better, we got a picture of Miss B. with her welcome bag. She is wearing glasses, which we have never seen before, and she looks a little bit tentative, but she is smiling. I wish I could tell what was going through her mind when the picture was taken. I can tell that she had just gotten the bag because everything is still in it except the small photo album and it is turned to a page with a picture of N, S, Eby, and Little Man.

We are very happy that she will probably make it home this summer!

My parents arrived today for graduation weekend. Sweet Pea just took her last final exam as an undergrad and Mimi is writing two last papers that are due tomorrow. Russ is busy grading his students finals and reading through a Masters thesis for one of his grad students. I love the flow of the academic life, but the last two weeks of the semester take a toll on the entire family.

My homeschoolers are nearly done for the year. S. and Rusty have a math final tomorrow and that is about it! Graduation for Sweet Pea and N. is on Saturday with a long ceremony at the university in the morning followed by a party and presentation of N's diploma in the afternoon.

And in other good news, Little Man's eye teeth are popping through - two down and two to go!

Wonderful! We can't wait to welcome the newest addition to the clan.
Congratulations to Sweet Pea and N! I've got some things to get in the mail to them...but they will be a few days late. Wish we could be there with you to celebrate.
Loads of love to all,
Lori

I just found your blog through RLC and fromhivtohome. I am starting something called KidsLake (www.kidslake.org) and we'd love to feature Ethiopia and AHOPE either in June or July! Check it out and let me know what you think!
